Subjects
We check every subject before we agree it.
Your child tells us what they want to study. We then check each GCSE properly: the course, the teacher, the exam parts and the exam centre. You get a clear yes, a no, or another option, before you enrol.
Six checks per subject
What we confirm for each GCSE
The exact qualification
Which GCSE, which exam board and which version of the course.
A specialist teacher
Someone who can teach the full course one-to-one at the right times.
The exam parts
Written papers, plus any speaking, practical, fieldwork or coursework.
An exam centre
A centre that accepts your child as a private candidate for that subject.
Time and timing
Enough teaching time before a real exam series.
Next steps
Whether the route fits the college or sixth form your child is aiming for.
Things to know
Some subjects need extra care
These are common points we check. They are not a list of subjects we can offer. Each one depends on the exact course and exam centre.
English Language and English Literature
Two separate GCSEs. Literature depends on the set texts in the chosen specification, so we check those first.
Maths
We check which tier suits your child now, and review it as their work improves.
Combined Science or separate sciences
Combined Science is two GCSEs. Biology, Chemistry and Physics separately are three, and need more time. Both include required practicals, which need a hands-on plan.
Modern languages
Speaking assessments need extra arranging with an exam centre. We check this before agreeing the route.
Geography
Fieldwork is part of the course. We check how it will be done and assessed.
Art, design and other coursework subjects
Some are hard or not possible for private candidates. We check the specific course and centre, case by case.
Already started?
Work from school can often carry on
Tell us the exam board, set texts and anything already finished. We check whether it fits, then build the plan from there.
Questions parents ask
No cost to talk
Tell us the subjects. We will check them.
Not sure which subjects yet? That is fine. Tick Not sure and we will talk it through.
