Other cities we cover

What your child gets — every week, online or in person.

Three things Birmingham families consistently can't find at the price point — and that we deliver as standard, not as a paid upgrade.

A specialist tutor — matched to the subject and the child.

We match a specialist who teaches that exact subject week in, week out, not a generalist 'GCSE tutor' rotating across subjects. If the chemistry isn't right after the trial we swap the tutor, free, no awkward conversation. The same tutor stays with your child week to week.

A plan built around the gaps, not the syllabus.

We diagnose first, then plan against the topics actually costing the grade — not the next chapter in the textbook. Lessons sequence around real weak points. That's why families see grade movement faster than 'do another past paper' — the work is targeted from week one rather than week twelve.

A six-weekly written progress review.

Every six weeks the tutor sends a short written report: what's been covered, what's improved, what's still wobbly, the recommended focus for the next half-term. You see the trajectory in writing, not just 'the lesson went well' — and the founder reviews any flagged report personally before it's sent.

Areas covered

Birmingham families today — online only at present.

Birmingham and West Midlands families work with us online today — the city is well outside our in-person catchment (which sits in west London out of our Uxbridge HQ). We say so on the page rather than implying coverage we can't reliably offer; a Birmingham parent landing here from search shouldn't have to find that out at the trial-form stage.

Online lessons run wherever your child has a laptop and a wifi connection — kitchen table, bedroom desk, grandparents' house in school holidays. The page applies just as much to families in Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Edgbaston, Harborne, Moseley, Kings Heath, the Jewellery Quarter, Coventry, Wolverhampton, the Black Country and the broader West Midlands commuter belt.

  • In-person not available in Birmingham at present — we will not pretend otherwise.
  • Same matched specialist tutor every week, planning against your child's gaps.

In-person availability

In-person tutoring — not yet available, and we'll say so.

We don't have an in-person tutor base in Birmingham yet. Our reliable catchment is west London (around Uxbridge); claiming Birmingham would mean inventing coverage and matching parents with tutors who can't actually travel weekly. The honest version of the page reflects that — and it's the version that respects a parent's time at the trial-form stage.

If your family specifically wants in-person tutoring, the cleanest answer is to ask whether anyone in your child's school's parent network already uses a local tutor, or to flag your details so when we expand into a Birmingham in-person base, you're on the early list. We'd rather earn that gradually than overpromise it now.

Online option

Online with us, today — the same tutoring families across Birmingham are getting now.

Online with us today is what most of our families across the country are doing — including roughly two-thirds of our London families, who choose online over in-person for the flexibility (no travel, no missed lessons because of traffic, recordings of every session for revision). It's stopped being a downgrade and started being the default for GCSE tutoring nationally.

The lesson runs on a shared interactive whiteboard: your child writes on the same digital page as the tutor in real time, the tutor annotates the working live, and questions don't have to wait a week because the platform supports async messaging between sessions. Recordings are available for every lesson so a missed week doesn't become a lost week.

Local exam boards

Exam boards in Birmingham — and how that shapes the tutoring.

Birmingham and West Midlands schools skew slightly more towards AQA across the core subjects than the national average; Edexcel is common for maths in many state schools and OCR appears in some of the independents and selective state schools. That's a soft pattern rather than a rule — once we know your child's specific school we know exactly which board they're on.

We cover all three boards — AQA, Edexcel and OCR — as standard across all five GCSE subjects. The shared GCSE content is largely the same across boards; what differs is question style, mark scheme phrasing and the topics each board over-indexes on, and that's where board-specific past papers earn their weight in the final months before the exams.
